Planning to get married? Guess it’s time to start looking for a photographer! But how do you know if you’re looking for the right photographer or not? What about the styles that they mention? What do those mean?
Although a Lancashire wedding photographer is happy to answer any questions you have about them, it’s always good to come with at least basic knowledge with you.
Reportage or Photojournalism?
They’re basically the same. Reportage is common for photographers who travel and tell stories through pictures. So, how does this work for a wedding?
You can probably guess this. In a wedding, reportage style means that the event and happening of your wedding will be captured chronologically. Details shoot are taken to fill in the story and make sure that nothing is missed.
The current wave is to always take wedding pictures in reportage. Nothing is more important than a complete video or album that tells the complete story with the small details included.
Relaxed and Glamorous
There are people who mainly take candid and relaxed pictures of a party. Such is usually great when the ceremony and reception happen somewhere outdoor and in the middle of daylight.
Others love to take things in a classical, yet glamorous style. If your party is Gatsby themed, for example, that’s the kind of party this photographer will mingle in.
Then, the next step is to know your own party style. Will you be having a relaxed, fun, party in a venue with the breeze occasionally hitting your face, or a party full of blinks and sparkling chandeliers?
As for this one, you should be expecting your photographer to be someone who focuses on visual art. He aims to create a picture out of his mind through the both of you and the place.
It’s not necessarily reportage as some might tell you. But a Lancashire wedding photographer may incorporate the two style and present a great story in visually stunning pictures of the both of you.
It’s more commonly understood as the posed style pictures. Rather than a style, this is something that you cannot get rid of from your album. It seems that no matter how old people get, formal traditional pictures are a must. Parents, in-laws, and grandparents love to have one or two copy of these pictures as keepsakes. Bentham Imaging has some great takes on this style.
If you encounter photographers that tell you they don’t do formal pictures, well, that is something. Because like it or not, even you have to take several of them. Your photographer shouldn’t be something that is not capable of taking such simple pictures request.
Friends that live out of town don’t come every day, and it’s already rare enough to see all your important people gathered in one place. Surely, one formal picture at least should not be such a hassle, right?
Black and White
It’s not a style, but it’s apparently something that you might want to know. About black and white pictures, some photographers offer you in whole or part.
Depending on your request and the price, you will get all your pictures in both black and white and full colors. Other photographers select pictures to be made into black and white to be compiled on the wedding album. But the full colored version is also provided on the USB stick.
After reading this, at least you can understand what those photographers are talking about on their home page, right?
